Websites for Therapists
A private practice website that gets you enquiries directly, not through a directory listing. Built free, from £300 a month.
Most therapists in private practice rely on a directory profile and a one page site built years ago. The profile puts you in a list of forty people and takes a fee for the privilege. A proper practice website lets someone find you, understand your approach and make contact without ever seeing a competitor.
What a therapist website has to do
Someone looking for a therapist is usually anxious about the search itself. Every barrier on the page is a reason to close the tab.
Reduce the fear of making contact
What the first session is like, how long it lasts, what happens if it is not the right fit, what confidentiality means in practice. Answering these plainly converts far better than any design flourish.
State the fee
Hiding the fee does not protect the enquiry, it prevents it. Therapists who publish a session fee, a concession policy and cancellation terms get fewer wasted first calls and more real ones.
Be specific about who you help
Anxiety, trauma, couples work, bereavement, ADHD, neurodivergent adults, workplace burnout. People search for their problem, not for "counselling". A page per specialism is how they find you.
Carry your accreditation properly
BACP, UKCP, BABCP or HCPC registration, modality, supervision and insurance. This is the professional bar and it should be visible, not buried in an about page.
How we build a therapy practice site
The whole site at once, specialism pages included.
A page per specialism, written for you
Anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, couples, bereavement, neurodivergence, work stress. Each written carefully, in language a person in difficulty can actually take in.
Fees, format and practicalities up front
Session fee, concession policy, in person or online, location and access, cancellation terms. All the things a prospective client wants to know before they will write an email.
A gentle enquiry route
A short, private, low-pressure contact route with a clear statement of what happens next and how quickly you respond. Not a fourteen field form, and not a bare email address.
Ethical, compliant copy
No outcome guarantees, no testimonial use that breaches your professional body's guidance, no crisis-service confusion. Written to sit comfortably with BACP or UKCP standards, with a clear signpost for people in crisis.
Kept moving every month
New specialism pages and new content each month, so the site stops being a business card and starts being how clients find you.
From "we have a website" to "the website brings work"
Enter your domain and we rebuild it as the mockup. No domain? We start from your trade and area. No stock people, no carousel, no filler.
What therapists search for when the site is holding them back
UK monthly search volumes, DataForSEO, August 2026. Therapists search website terms far more than SEO terms, which is why this is the senior page of the pair.

What the free mockup actually proves
You see the site before you decide anything. No call, no pitch.
We do not publish invented case studies. Real anonymised numbers are shared as they land, never before.
Most private practices start on Local
One practice, in person plus online work, the full specialism set. Local covers it at £300 a month with nothing upfront. Therapists working nationally online want Regional. See Regional and National.

The build gives someone a reason to make contact. Appearing when they search for a therapist in your town, or for the specialism you practise, is the ongoing work and it runs on the same subscription.

How much does a therapist website cost?+
Nothing upfront. The build is free, you see a working mockup first, then £300 a month on the Local plan covering hosting, ongoing content and the SEO. There is no design invoice and no build fee.
Is a website better than a directory profile?+
They do different jobs. A directory profile puts you in a list beside forty competitors and charges you for it. Your own site is the only place where someone can read about your approach without immediately seeing an alternative. Most therapists we speak to want to depend on the directory less, not necessarily leave it.
Should I put my fee on the site?+
We strongly recommend it. Fee uncertainty is the main reason a prospective client does not make contact, and unpublished fees mostly generate enquiries from people who cannot afford the work.
Can I take bookings and payments online?+
Yes, where you want to. Many therapists prefer an initial enquiry rather than direct booking for a first session, and we will build whichever suits your practice.
Will the copy be compliant with my professional body?+
It is written to sit within BACP and UKCP guidance: no outcome promises, careful handling of testimonials, and clear crisis signposting. You review everything before it goes live, and you know your own body's rules better than anyone.
Do you use photos of people?+
No, we do not use people imagery. In therapy in particular, stock photographs of models looking sad are conspicuous and undermine trust. The design carries credibility through structure and clarity instead.
