Websites for trades that bring in work, not compliments
Every job and area page written. Local SEO wired in. From £300/mo.
Tradespeople do not need a nice website. They need to be the first name that shows up when someone in their patch searches at half seven on a Tuesday night. We build the site free, write every job and area page, and work on the rankings every month.
You can rent enquiries forever, or own the thing that makes them
Lead platforms sell the same job to four of you and put the price up every year. Paid ads stop the moment the card does. A site that ranks keeps producing enquiries that nobody else has been sold, and the cost per enquiry falls as it builds.
| Lead platforms | Paid ads | Your own site | |
|---|---|---|---|
| COST PER LEAD | You bid against 4 others | Rising every renewal | Falls as rankings build |
| WHO OWNS THE LEAD | The platform | Google, while you pay | You do |
| SHARED WITH RIVALS | Yes, every time | No | No |
| WORKS WHEN YOU STOP PAYING | No | No, instantly | Yes, for a while |
| BUILDS AN ASSET | None | None | Yes, every month |
| UPFRONT COST | Per lead, forever | Budget plus management | £0 |
What a trades website needs to actually rank
Six things decide whether a trades site takes calls or sits there. All six are part of the build, not an upsell afterwards.
Rewires, fuse board upgrades, EV chargers, emergency call-outs. One services page cannot rank for all of them.
Near-me searches resolve to real places. The towns you actually travel to each get a proper written page.
The map pack takes the calls. Categories, services, photos, posts and review flow are all part of the job.
Accreditations, insurance, guarantees and job detail, placed at the point where someone decides to ring.
Trades customers ring. The number is tappable everywhere, and the form is short and tested monthly.
The build is coded rather than plugin-heavy, so it loads on bad 4G and does not drop the enquiry.
Written for your trade, not adapted from a template
Every trade page is written around the jobs that trade actually gets searched for. Sector pages are published as each one ships; the trades below are in the programme.
- Plumbers
- Electricians
- Construction companies
- Roofers
- Builders
- Plasterers
- Landscapers
- Joiners and carpenters
- Heating engineers
- Painters and decorators
- Driveway and paving
- Locksmiths
- Tree surgeons

How much does a website for a trades business cost?+
A freelancer typically charges £1,500 to £3,000 upfront and an agency £3,000 to £8,000 or more, usually with SEO priced separately. Day One builds it for £0 upfront and from £300 a month, with every job and area page written, local SEO wired in and hosting included.
Is a website better than paying for leads?+
Lead platforms sell the same enquiry to several trades and the price per lead only goes one way. A site that ranks generates enquiries that are yours alone, and the cost per enquiry falls as rankings build. Most trades use both at first and lean off the platforms as the site takes over.
Do I need SEO as well as a website?+
For trades, SEO is the point of the website. Search terms like "seo for roofers" get far more searches than "websites for roofers" for a reason: trades buy visibility, not pages. Ours is wired in before launch and worked on every month, at no extra cost.
How long before the phone starts ringing?+
Google Business Profile work and brand searches can move within weeks. Competitive job and area terms usually take three to six months to build properly. We will not promise week one rankings, and you should not believe anyone who does.
I work alone. Is this overkill?+
One-person trades are exactly who this suits, because you have no time to write pages or chase a developer. The whole point is that you do nothing after the first conversation.
Do you only work with Bristol trades?+
Built in Bristol, working with businesses across the South West and beyond. The build and the local SEO work the same wherever your patch is.
