SEO for Dentists
The patients searching for implants this week are picking from the top three map results. We build you into that three.
A dental practice does not lose patients because the clinical work is weak. It loses them because a corporate group with a bigger content budget sits above it for every treatment search in the area. SEO for dentists is the work of closing that gap: a page per treatment, a Google Business Profile that actually ranks, and review flow that never stops.
Why dental SEO is not like other local SEO
Dentistry sits inside Google's Your Money or Your Life category. The bar for trust signals is higher than it is for a takeaway or a car park, and the rules on what you may claim are set by the GDC, not by a marketer.
Google grades you on expertise, not just keywords
Health content is assessed against experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust. A treatment page written by an anonymous copywriter, with no named clinician, no GDC number and no reviewed date, is competing with one arm tied behind its back.
The map pack takes the enquiry before the website does
For "dentist near me" and "emergency dentist", the three map results absorb most of the clicks. If your Google Business Profile is thin, miscategorised or short on recent reviews, ranking your website first will not save you.
One page cannot rank for every treatment
Implants, Invisalign, composite bonding, veneers, hygiene and emergency care are six different searches with six different intents and six different price expectations. A single "Treatments" page ranks for none of them properly.
GDC rules limit what the copy can say
No guarantees on clinical outcomes, careful handling of before and after imagery, and specialist titles used only where they are registered. Copy that ignores this is a complaint risk, not a growth plan.
What we actually do for a dental practice
Every plan runs the same five workstreams. The difference between a practice that ranks and one that does not is usually that nobody has done all five at once.
Google Business Profile, rebuilt properly
Correct primary and secondary categories, treatment services listed individually, opening hours including bank holidays, practice photos, and the Q and A section seeded with the questions patients actually ask. This is the single highest-return hour in dental SEO and it is usually the one nobody has done.
Local pack and proximity work
Citations cleaned so your name, address and phone number match everywhere, local landing pages for the areas you genuinely draw from, and embedded practice information that helps Google associate you with those areas rather than just your postcode.
A page for every treatment you sell
Implants, Invisalign, bonding, whitening, veneers, hygiene, nervous patients, emergency appointments. Each with its own page, its own price band, its own FAQ set and its own enquiry route. Written for you, not left as a homework task.
Content that answers the pre-enquiry questions
What implants cost in the UK, how long Invisalign takes, whether bonding damages the tooth, what happens at an emergency appointment. These are the searches that happen before someone is ready to book, and they are how a practice gets found by patients who have not chosen yet.
Reviews on a system, not on a whim
A review request that goes out at the right point in the appointment cycle, a response routine for the ones that arrive, and reporting so you can see recent review velocity rather than a lifetime total that stopped growing in 2023.
What dental practices get searched for
UK monthly search volumes, DataForSEO, August 2026. These are the terms practices use when they go looking for help. Patient-side treatment demand is far larger again.
| Search term | UK monthly searches |

| marketing for dentists | 590 |
| seo for dentists | 480 |
| digital marketing for dentists | 260 |

What you get to see, from day one
We are a young studio and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can commit to is visibility into the work, which is more than most retainers offer.
We do not publish invented case studies. Real anonymised numbers are shared as they land, never before.
Most single-site practices start on Local
One practice, one town, treatment pages and the map pack. Local covers it. Groups running three or more sites, or practices chasing implant and Invisalign patients from a wider catchment, want Regional. See Regional and National.

SEO decides whether a patient sees you. The website decides whether they book. If your current site is dated, slow on a phone or missing the treatment detail people compare on, start with the build and the rankings follow.

How long does SEO for a dental practice take to work?+
Google Business Profile improvements can move map pack positions within two to six weeks. Treatment pages competing on terms like implants or Invisalign usually take three to six months to settle, longer in a city centre with established corporate groups. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either buying ads or misleading you.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?+
No, and nobody can. Google does not sell positions and does not publish the algorithm. What we can commit to is the work being done properly and reported honestly, and to you seeing exactly where you rank each month.
Do you write the treatment pages or do we?+
We write them. You get a draft for clinical review, because the copy has to be accurate and GDC compliant, but you are not handed a content brief and left to it. Reviewing a draft takes a principal about twenty minutes a page.
What does dental SEO cost?+
Our Local plan is £300 a month with no upfront build fee, which covers a single-site practice targeting its own town. Regional is £1,500 a month for groups or wider catchment work. There is no separate design invoice, the site is built free and the subscription covers it.
We already rank for our practice name. Is that enough?+
Ranking for your own name means you are found by people who already know you. That is retention, not growth. The patients worth winning are searching for a treatment or for "dentist near me", and those are different pages and a different piece of work.
Do you work with practices outside Bristol?+
Yes. We are built in Bristol and work with businesses across the South West and beyond. Dental SEO is a national discipline; only the map pack work is tied to your postcode.
