Website redesign, with the design first and the invoice never
See your site redesigned in 3 days, free. Live in weeks. From £300/mo.
Most redesigns start with a quote and a three month wait. Ours starts with the finished thing. Give us your current domain and we rebuild your homepage as a working mockup, free, so you can compare old and new before you spend anything.
Three ways to buy a redesign. Only one shows you the design first.
A UK freelancer charges roughly £1,500 to £3,000 for a website redesign, and an agency £3,000 to £8,000 or more, with content and SEO usually priced on top. Day One rebuilds the whole site for £0 upfront, rewrites every page, handles the SEO migration and includes hosting, from £300 a month.
| Freelancer | Agency | Day One | |
|---|---|---|---|
| UPFRONT COST | £1,500–3,000 | £3,000–8,000+ | £0 |
| WHAT YOU SEE FIRST | A quote | A proposal deck | The finished design |
| CONTENT REWRITE | You write it | Usually extra | Every page rewritten for you |
| SEO MIGRATION | Rarely handled | Sold separately | Redirects and structure included |
| TIME TO LIVE | Weeks to months | Three to six months | Mockup day 3, live in weeks |
| AFTER LAUNCH | Hourly rate | Monthly retainer | Monthly optimisation included |
How to tell your website needs redesigning
You do not need a redesign because the site is five years old. You need one when it has stopped bringing work in. These are the six things we see most often.
Most people judge a trade in about three seconds. A dated site loses the job before you know it existed.
If your site takes more than three seconds on 4G, a large share of visitors have already gone back to Google.
A site that only appears when someone searches your business name is a brochure, not a lead source.
If a price change means an email to a developer and an invoice, the site has stopped working for you.
One "Services" page cannot rank for eight services. Each one needs its own page, properly written.
It happens far more often than anyone thinks. We test forms on every build and every month after.
The part that goes wrong when nobody is watching
Redesigns lose traffic when old URLs are dropped and pages come back thinner than they went in. Every rebuild we do includes the same migration work, whether you ask for it or not.
Old pages are matched to new ones and redirected, so nothing you have already earned is thrown away.
Existing positions are recorded before launch and watched afterwards so we can see what moved and why.
We rewrite each page around what people actually search for, rather than lifting the old text across.
Proper markup so Google and AI search engines can quote your services, areas and answers.
GA4 and Search Console reconnected and verified, so the numbers still make sense after launch.
We take over hosting, certificates and security. One bill, no separate invoices to chase.

How much does a website redesign cost?+
A UK freelancer typically charges £1,500 to £3,000 for a redesign and an agency £3,000 to £8,000 or more, usually with content and SEO priced separately. Day One redesigns your site for £0 upfront: design, every page rewritten, SEO migration and hosting are included from £300 a month on a rolling subscription.
Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?+
It can, if the migration is done badly. The two things that cause losses are unmapped URLs and thinner content on the new site. We map every old URL to a new one with permanent redirects, record your existing positions before launch, and rewrite pages to be deeper rather than shorter.
How long does a website redesign take?+
You see a working mockup of the redesigned homepage in 3 working days. Once you approve it and subscribe, the complete rebuild with every page rewritten is typically live in two to four weeks.
Can you redesign my site without changing my domain?+
Yes. The domain stays yours and stays the same. We rebuild on the same address, move hosting across and put the new site live with redirects in place, usually with no visible downtime.
Do I have to rewrite all my content?+
No. Rewriting every page is part of the service, not an extra. We research what people in your sector actually search for and write each page around it. You get a draft to approve before anything goes live.
What if I only want a partial redesign?+
We do not do partial refreshes. Half a redesign on old foundations usually costs more over time and fixes less. Everything we build is a complete coded site, which is also why there is no upfront charge for it.
What happens to my old website?+
It stays live until you approve the new one. On the day we switch over, the old site is archived and the redirects point everything at the new pages.
